Pre-Production....What a time!
So, I'll be totally honest, I do not enjoy pre-production at all! For those of you who don't know what that means, here's a quick little google-search-definition!
noun
noun: pre-production
- work done on a product, especially a film or broadcast program, before full-scale production begins.
So, I'm putting in all the pre-conceptualizing, rules, basic editing etc. of my portfolio! Currently, pre-production looks like going through all my work and deciding what is the best of the best and deciding what can stay in the archives ;-)
It means presenting what I think is my best work to my peers and hearing them when they say "actually, you have better work". (kinda depressing, but I move on!!!)
For my portfolio, I decided my thesis needed to be: The Story of Relationship. My photos need to tell a story, whether it be the visual story of a mother and daughter, or the tale of how a couple fell in love, I want my photos to be sufficient in telling their relational narrative. I LOVE wedding photography, and it is my main area of focus. Many of the photos in my collection are from my former weddings. Operating under this idea, I have found more photos than I know what to deal with, and I am very blessed.
Can't wait to share more as this process develops!
